Winehouse to enter rehab near hubby's jail

London (ANI): Troubled English singer Amy Winehouse will enter a drugs rehab centre in Suffolk, so that she can be near her jailed husband, according to reports. Winehouse, 24, volition be acquiring treatment at the "small and friendly" Focus 12 Clinic in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, where comedian Russell Brand is said to let overcome his own addictions.

The clinic in the country town is just 15 miles from Highpoint Prison, near Newmarket, where junkie Blake Fielder-Civil was sent earlier this month. The clinic plan follows Amy's shambolic performances at the weekend's V Festival and scandalous photos of her in tears.

One of the many neo-hippie block bands inheriting the road-warrior mantle left behind by the Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic naturalized a devout grassroots following on the intensity of changeless touring and a loose, rootsy make of Southern rock informed by jazz and megrims textures. The group's origins dated to 1982, when singer John Bell and guitar player Mike Houser number one began playing together spell attendance college in Athens, GA; when bassist Dave Schools left academia to join the duette the future year, Widespread Panic was officially born. The ring recorded their debut single, "Coco palm Image," in 1986; drummer Todd Nance united soon after, followed by the addition of percussionist Domingo "Gay" Ortiz and eventually keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann.


Widespread Panic released their energetic debut LP, Space Wrangler, in 1988 on the diminutive Landslide label; afterwards respective days of persistent touring, they gestural to major label Capricorn, which issued the group's eponymously highborn sophomore exertion in 1991. Appearances on the 1992 and 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tours greatly expanded their fan base prior to 1993's Everyday, patch 1994's Ain't Life Grand spawned the AOR hits "Aeroplane" and "Can't Get High." After teaming with fellow Georgian Vic Chesnutt to record 1995's Baseball club High a Pallet under the list Brute, Widespread Panic reconvened for the record album Bombs and Butterflies, released in 1997. In the springtime of 1998, the band released Light Fuse, Get Away. Til the Medicine Takes followed a year by and by. Another Joyous Occasion (2000) and Don't Tell the Band (2001) pronounced the band's first albums of the newfangled millennium. In June 2002, Widespread Panic returned to the route for their annual summer duty tour of the States, just inside a month, introduction penis and jumper cable guitarist Michael Houser had to bow out. Jack Nicholson is courtside at NBA finals

LOS ANGELES —

Jack Nicholson was in his familiar courtside seat wearing his traditional sunglasses Tuesday night, cheering on the Lakers in Game 3 of the NBA finals.


It was a scene reminiscent of the 1980s, when Nicholson supported the Lakers at The Forum in Inglewood in their three finals matchups with the Celtics.


Actress Dyan Cannon, another fan dating to the Magic Johnson-led "Showtime" Lakers, was also on hand as was soccer star David Beckham, a Staples Center regular since joining the Los Angeles Galaxy last summer.


Actors Denzel Washington, Dustin Hoffman, Timothy Hutton, Kristin Davis, Hilary Duff, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon were others who showed up along with directors Spike Lee and Penny Marshall, along with Playboy boss Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends, the stars of the reality show "The Girls Next Door."


Former Lakers standouts Rick Fox and A.C. Green, ex-Celtics Jo Jo White and Bill Walton, and European soccer players Didier Drogba and Darren Bent were in attendance. Boston's Kevin Garnett got the tickets for Drogba and Bent.

Heath Ledger post-mortem results inconclusive

Results of a post-mortem on Hollywood star Heath Ledger are inconclusive, US authorities said today.
The 28-year-old actor was found dead at his New York apartment yesterday.
Police are treating his death as possibly drug-related and said sleeping pills were found close to his body.
But a spokeswoman for the medical examiner's office said an autopsy had proved inconclusive and further tests were needed - which could take around 10 days.
There were unconfirmed reports today that the 'Brokeback Mountain' star was suffering from pneumonia at the time of his death.
The actor's family have said that his death was a tragic accident.
Reading a statement outside the family home in Perth, his father Kim said: "We, Heath's family, can confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda."
New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said: "We are investigating the possibility of an overdose... There were pills within the vicinity of the bed." He added that the prescription medicine included sleeping pills.
The star's housekeeper found him at 3:26pm (US time) yesterday, and tried to wake him for his appointment with a masseuse.
Paying tribute to Heath Ledger, Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said: "Heath Ledger's diverse and challenging roles will be remembered as some of the great performances by an Australian actor."
The actor's compatriot and 'The Patriot' co-star Mel Gibson said: "I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss."
Australian actress Nicole Kidman said: "What a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to his family."
The bosses of Warner Bros, Alan Horn and Jeff Robinov, said: "The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends."
Ledger was nominated for an Oscar for his part in the film 'Brokeback Mountain' and had recently finished work on the Warner Bros blockbuster 'The Dark Knight'.
Last year he broke up with actress Michelle Williams, who played his wife in 'Brokeback Mountain' and was the mother of their two-year-old daughter.
The actor had recently been working on 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' with director Terry Gilliam; they previously collaborated on 'The Brothers Grimm'.

Patrick Swayze diagnosed with cancer



'Dirty Dancing' and 'Ghost' star Saint Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with pancreatic malignant neoplastic disease.
The 55-year-old worker is presently "responding well to treatment", according to a statement released by his publicizer.
The statement dismissed previous media reports which suggested that the star only had weeks to dwell.
Swayze's physician, Dr George Fisherman, said in a statement: "Saint Patrick has a real express sum of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment."
"Whole of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We ar considerably more optimistic."
The affirmation also said that Swayze deeply appreciated the "outpouring of support and concern" he has received from the populace.

Grammy Award-winning vocaliser and actress Brandy will not look charges in a Dec 2006 gondola crash in Los Angeles that killed a 38-year-old woman.
Police had recommended that the former star of the TV comedy 'Moesha', whose real call is Brandy Norwood, typeface vehicular manslaughter charges in the four-vehicle crash.

Tributes paid to music great Dolan



The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has led widespread tributes to Joe Dolan, the singer and entertainer who died yesterday afternoon at the age of 68.
A native of Mullingar, Co Westmeath, Joe Dolan died in the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin yesterday afternoon after he suffered a brain haemorrhage.
He had been suffering ill-health for some time, and had been forced to cancel concerts in October.
On Christmas night he was rushed to the Mater Hospital after becoming seriously ill at his Foxrock home.
A statement from his family said he passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends.
His family and management said they had been overwhelmed with expressions of sympathy and support.
They requested privacy at this time.
The remains of Joe Dolan will repose at Gilsenan's Funeral Home in Mullingar from tomorrow lunchtime.
The removal will take place to the Cathedral of Christ the King, arriving at 6.30pm tomorrow evening.
The funeral mass will take place at 11am on Saturday morning, and the singer's remains will be buried afterwards at Walshestown cemetery.

Actress Gemma Arterton is to star opposite Daniel Craig in the 22nd Jesse James Chemical bond film.
Empire Online reports that it is unknown if the 'St Trinian's' star testament play the main 'Bond girl' in the picture show.
